Our pasture-raised chickens follow the rhythms of nature, taking a restful break from laying eggs during November through January. This ensures they remain healthy and full of energy to bring you their best. Come February 2025, they’ll be back, offering the same delicious, farm-fresh eggs you know and love. Pasture raised on our farm means..
Every Delta Tails Farms egg comes from a hen who enjoys a minimum of 108 square feet per hen of roaming room in fresh pastures, with the freedom to forage for local grasses, succulents and wildflowers while enjoying fresh air and sunshine. Except for electric fencing to keep her safe from predators and a coop for safe roosting at night, our hens are born and raised with complete access to the outdoors!
Just one pasture-raised egg contains twice as much omega-3 fat, three times more vitamin D, four times more vitamin E and seven times more beta-carotene than eggs non-pasture raised hens!
Our pasture raised eggs simply taste BETTER! Our eggs are as fresh as can be with deep golden colored yolks and a creamier texture!

You know the eggs are as fresh as can be and will last longer because they haven’t been refrigerated for weeks while sitting in a warehouse at some random location.
You know how the hens are cared for, what a delicious and natural diet they eat, and that nothing foreign is being put into them for the sake of “mass production” thus tainting the eggs and your body!
One of the awesome parts of pasture raised hens is they eat a very rich diet of bugs, grasses, leaves, flowers, grubs, even small field mice every day! All this forging and exercise also means they naturally burn a lot of calories. So, make sure our hens are getting all the nutrition and vitamins they need, we do also provide them with a balanced mix of locally sourced grains (including wheat, oats, barley, corn, soy) from Elk Grove Feed Mill. These grains are essential nutrients for the health and wellbeing of our “athlete hens.”
Our hens eat fresh grass, bugs, leaves, and whatever else they forage for on our farm where we do not spray or use pesticides or other chemicals. We use holistic and regenerative farming practices to keep pests away (the guinea fowl are great for that). However, our eggs are not certified organic.
